On July 29, 2021, at about 11:30 pm, 27-year-old Shawndrick Parker was in the parking lot of the gas station at 98 Lyell Ave. when a suspect approached on foot and open fired. Parker was killed and a second man was wounded and survived. Investigators believe Parker was the intended victim, but the motive behind the murder is unclear.
