On June 16, 2021, at about 12:36 pm 31-year old Eric Ruise was gunned down in the busy parking lot at the corner of Jefferson Ave. and Bartlett St. Multiple suspects fired several dozen gunshots, shooting and killing Ruise. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
