On June 30, 2020 at about 3:00 pm Rashard Crawford was shot during a dice game in the street in the area of 8 Ernst St. He was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle and remained hospitalized for several months. He was ultimately released from the hospital with life-altering injuries. On March 11, 2021, at the age of 24, Crawford died from complications resulting from the 2020 shooting.
