On June 22, 2012, around 10 PM, an unknown suspect fired multiple gunshots from an open field in the area of North St. and Helena St. Keith Bryant and several others were standing in front of the store at 2 Grace St. when the shots were fired. Bryant was struck by one of the gunshots, collapsed and died from his injuries.
On 1/27/23 the suspect in this case, Earl Thomas was killed in a shooting on Culver Rd. The case against Thomas stalled years ago after witnesses failed to continue their cooperation when the case was brought before a Grand Jury. As a result of Thomas’ death, the Bryant murder investigation has been closed by Exceptional Clearance – Death of Offender
