On the evening of January 18, 1980 24-year-old Daniel Ellwanger was working his job at Hamilton Cab Company. At about 11:00 pm he was sent to pick up a fare on Gregory St. That was the last time he was heard from. At about 7:00 am Ellwanger was found shot to death in his cab on Lincoln Ave. after dropping off his fare in what was believed to be a robbery. Investigators tracked down many leads over the last several decades, unfortunately none leading to the identity of his killer.
