On November 21, 2022, just before 8 PM, officers responded to Atkinson St and Reynolds St for the report of shots fired and a person down in the street. Officers located 12-year-old old Juan Lopez dead in front of 218 Atkinson St. with multiple gunshot wounds. A 16-year-old was also shot and survived his injuries. Investigators developed a potential suspect, who has since been arrested for murder in the state of Pennsylvania. Numerous tips have come in that to support leads on the suspect, but individuals must be willing to cooperate in order for the investigation to continue and provide the family of Juan the satisfaction of knowing his killer is held accountable.
