On September 21, 2022, at about 10:30 pm, 40-year-old Carlos Roman-Morales was walking down Weaver St. when he was shot and killed. Roman-Morales was homeless and well known in the neighborhood for lending a helping hand to neighbors. Investigators have no motive for the shooting and believe he may have been an unintended target of the gunshots.
