On August 13, 2020 at 11:45 pm 21-year old Nazier McFadden and 19-year old Amir Starks were at the gas pumps when a suspect walked up and open fired on their vehicle. Both Nazier and Amir were shot and died from their injuries. Their families are pleading with people in the community who witnessed, or know who committed the double murder to come forward and provide the closure they need.
In 2022 witnesses came forward in this case which identified Simron Gordon as the suspect. Coupled with video and ballistic evidence recovered, this case was closed by Death of Offender. Simron Gordon was shot and killed by police, as he was robbing the Family Dollar on W. Main St on 10/6/21.
