On July 6, 2020 at 10:30 PM 39-year old Bryson Simpson was with several friends in the parking lot at the corner of Thurston Road and Flanders St. Gunfire rang out and a total of 3 people, including Simpson, was struck. Simpson was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe Simpson was shot by a stray bullet that was not mean for he or his friends, but for another group of people hanging out at the corner.
