On March 3rd, 2000 Melvin Chatman and Raymond Hernandez were shot and killed execution style in a stairwell at 111 Whitney St. Investigators have established the motive behind the double murder was connected to the city’s drug trade. There are individuals in the community today who can provide investigators the information needed to bring closure to the families of Raymond and Melvin.
