On November 7, 2015 at about 7:30 pm 67-year old Bruce Mayville was walking to the bus stop near School 50 on Seneca Ave when he was assaulted by a group of kids between the ages of 10-15 years old. Investigators believe this was a random, unprovoked attack in which at least one of the young men began punching Mr. Mayville in the face and head. Mr. Mayville was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken neck. On July 1st, 2017, Mr. Mayville died as a result of the injuries and his death was ruled a homicide.
